For as long as I can remember, the government has made demands on farmers and have told them what crops to raise, what fields to use to raise the crops and more. If they have dairy cattle, they want to control your milk production and how you sell your milk. For instance, they punish the Amish farmers for selling their milk to their neighbors! They want every last dime they can squeeze out of the farmers, and it is not right. The farmer is self-employed and works hard for his crops and his milk production. When the government starts telling you what crops you can raise and how you can sell your milk it is wrong! Many years ago, the government tried to tell my Dad he could not keep producing corn every year. Dad said he produced corn for his cattle for silage and feed. It is really sad that today's farmers face even more regulations. My Dad never took a dime from the government because he said if you do it one time, then they own you. How right he was!
