Rick Steves - Traveler, Author, Bleeding Heart LibTard
Watch Steves travel programs, try to tune him out.
My wife and I decided to watch a couple of Rick Steves travel programs for Scotland, Bavaria, the Alps because we have connections to these places from our own travels.
It’s obvious to me when watching Steves he’s a “Bleeding Heart Liberal/LibTard.” Some of his references out him, it’s not my imagination. My wife concurs. I looked Steves up at Wikipedia to see if I could find something to prove out my observations. It didn’t take long.
Under “Political and Civic Advocacy” we have: As a lifelong traveler, Steves avows that terrorism is something to which Americans should get accustomed, a natural outgrowth of the United States' position in the global community and how it is militarily advanced. In an interview with the Seattle Times, Steves said [Emphasis added]:
"I think we're 300 million people and if we lose a few hundred people a year to terrorists, that doesn't change who we are and it shouldn't change the fabric of our society. Frankly I think we should get used to losing—as long as we're taking the stance in the world of being the military superpower, you're going to have people nipping at you. And if it's hundreds or thousands—we lose 15,000 people a year to have the right to bear arms and most people think that's a good deal, year after year. We spend 15,000 people for the right to bear arms. What do we spend to be as aggressive and heavy weight on this planet? We're always going to have terrorism."
Really? “we should get used to losing”??? And what’s wrong with losing 15,000 American citizens a year so we can uphold our 2nd Amendment rights. And by GOD, we better lower our military power standards, issue pea shooters, teach more Critical Race Theory, force COVID vaccines on members of the Armed Forces.
According to Mr. Steves you can’t have it both ways. He doesn’t wish to change the fabric of our society but he’s willing to donate a few thousand dead travelers to keep those values. We shouldn’t hide under our beds, but America should continue to lead the world against terrorist states. Steves avows that terrorism is something to which Americans should get accustomed, a natural outgrowth of the United States' position in the global community and how it is militarily advanced.
When President Trump talked about reducing America’s role around the world, closing some bases, demanding NATO pay its debt to America the Liberals and regular establishment lost their collective minds. This countries like our military presence as long as they don’t have to pay for it.
On January 20, 2017, the date of Donald Trump's inauguration, Steves matched the sum total of every purchase made on his website that day and donated it to the American Civil Liberties Union. ACLU has a catchy name, but history tells us they are not what they pretend to be. Steves choose the day President Trump is inaugurated to hold his little fundraiser.
"Those of us with passports and who are wealthy enough to travel a lot—especially white, straight, Christian males like me—don't often think a lot about civil liberties ... at least, not in an immediate or personal way. Civil liberties just aren't an issue for most of us. If a wealthy person is in trouble with the law, he can hire a good lawyer. It's the poor who are filling our prisons. If I want to smoke pot, no one's going to arrest me. It's poor and black people who get arrested, and then disenfranchised. I have a voice because I fit societal norms and I have money."
Donald Trump becomes President, Steves is worried about civil liberties. I wonder how he feels about those “evil MAGA” supporters locked up in the DC Gulag and other prisons around the US be peacefully protested but had their due process rights taken away from them. I’m hearing crickets from Steves.
Mr. Steves is also worried about “environmental destruction.” It looks like he’s all in for carbon credits because he’s not stopping his world travels anytime soon.
In June 2019, acknowledging that travel is a source of environmental destruction, he announced that his tour company will donate $1 million a year to a portfolio of environmental nonprofits, to mitigate the carbon emissions made from the 30,000 annual travelers who use his tour program. Critics contend that travel can never be carbon neutral and that his donations amount to being a way for the wealthy to feel better; Steves counters that if travelers prefer booking with his company due to the carbon offset, other travel companies will be forced to follow suit to stay in business.
Liberals are excellent at rationalizing their wayward ways. In essence, they’re hypocrites. Do as I say, while I do as I please. And profit from it.
And finally, Steves publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden's presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020, respectively. Speaking of domestic terrorism, it appears Steves is all in. I wonder how he feels about massive election fraud. I suppose he’s fine with it as long as his side “wins.”
The guy clearly has messed up thoughts and ideals. That he can even say any one person's life is not worth it, then clearly he has mixed up ideas of humanity.
